In counselling work your clients will often talk about how they manage transactions of money and gifts in their life and their relationships. This can provide a rich theme for exploration in the work, because these exchanges are always loaded with meanings, for giver and receiver.

Such transactions are also always prominent features of the counselling relationship itself. In this workshop we will look at some of the complexities and challenges which come with exchanges of money and gifts.

Bring to the workshop your experiences of any aspect of an exchange where you have felt stuck or uncomfortable, or where you have had the sense that ‘there’s something else going on’.

Colin White is an experienced psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer based in Edinburgh. His background is primarily in Gestalt therapy, but his work is strongly influenced by the psychoanalytic approach.

Lunch
You are invited to bring lunch to share with other participants after the workshop. Tea and Coffee will be provided.
